At the mansion
Which venue did we pick?
Honestly, was there really ever a choice?
We’re getting married at the Mansion at Valley Country Club!

Once we saw it in person, we didn’t want to tour anywhere else (and we didn’t). It was the one venue where we didn’t have to try hard to imagine our wedding. It was perfect. It was us.
What surprised me, however, was Mr. Puffer’s reaction. At other venues, he’d been very outgoing, peppering the managers with dozens of questions and quietly pointing out features he loved. I treated the venue search like car shopping: I would nod quietly, take a test drive, and avoid appearing too interested.
At the mansion, however, we reversed roles. I was practically bouncing with excitement as soon as I glimpsed the mansion in the distance. And when we walked through the front doors, I quite literally grabbed his arm and gasped. By the time the tour ended?and I knew the mansion was within our price range?I was thoroughly giddy.
His reaction? Stone-faced silence.
Crappy photos from my phone from here on out. My apologies.
It was only after we left the mansion that he revealed his true impression. Thinking I’d have to argue my case for picking the mansion, I tentatively asked what he thought. His response: “If we get married anywhere else, I’ll be majorly disappointed.”
We had my parents come down from Pennsylvania to see both venue finalists before we signed a contract?and I purposefully took them to Martin’s West first before wowing them with Valley Country Club. It wouldn’t have mattered. My folks?and later, his folks?agreed that the mansion’s charm was completely worth the extra money we’d pay.
Because what we’re getting is this amazing mansion.
With this fantastic porch.
A grand foyer (forgive the crappy photo).
Three sitting rooms for the cocktail hour and for taking a break from dancing (one not pictured).
A sweeping grand staircase.
A full-size bar.
That ballroom, with its amazing wood floors, lighted and draped ceiling, and already installed uplighting.
Beautiful tables with Chiavari chairs and bone china,移植上去仍是一样会掉.
Three working fireplaces that will be lit for our November wedding (and air conditioning to keep the temperature perfect).
And again, that staircase…
Every time we drop off a deposit, I get chills as soon as I walk through the front doors. And at the end of the day,901开奖直播本港台直播开奖, for a woman who never wanted a wedding, that’s saying a lot.
